mindfulness for schools

I am a certified mindfulness teacher of the "Paws b" primary school mindfulness curriculum. "Paws b" is designed for children aged 7 to 11 and is offered over six to twelve sessions. It can be delivered either as six 1-hour lessons or twelve 30-minute lessons, and works well within a PSHE curriculum, as an intervention, in a nurture group, or simply as an after-school club. The course covers mindfulness, emotional resilience, and self-awareness through a variety of engaging methods, including videos, cartoons, and interactive activities.

Here’s an outline of the lessons:

  • Lesson 1: Our Amazing Brain — Exploring the brain's functions

  • Lesson 2: Puppy Training — Learning to stay present in the moment

  • Lesson 3: Finding a Steady Place — Grounding techniques for emotional balance

  • Lesson 4: Dealing With Difficulty — Understanding and managing the amygdala

  • Lesson 5: The Storytelling Mind — Recognising and managing our thoughts

  • Lesson 6: Growing Happiness — Fostering kindness and self-care

"Paws b" is a fun and accessible way for children to learn about mindfulness. It helps them understand how their brains influence their behaviour, while teaching practical strategies to manage their emotions.

If you are interested in bringing this program to your school, please get in touch for more information.
